Carbonite Releases Version 4.0 with Upgraded Backup and Restore Features
• Redesigned user-interface and restore manager makes recovering lost files, photos, videos and music quicker and easier than ever.
• New www.carbonite.co.uk website provides UK pricing and supports multiple payment methods.
London, UK – 14th September 2010 – Carbonite®, a leading provider of online backup, today announced the release of Carbonite 4.0 for Windows. Available immediately in the UK, the latest version makes backing up and restoring your digital life quicker and easier than ever.
A key enhancement of Carbonite 4.0 is the process of restoring lost files using the Restore Manager. The Manager guides users through each step of the restore process, whether they need to retrieve a single file or restore a full hard drive of data. New features include:
• A new Restore Search feature enables users to search for and build a complete list of files to restore. Users can search their backup based on name, date or file type, making it easy to find a single file from an entire hard drive of backed up data.
• The new Priority File Restore feature allows users to specify which files they want restored first, making file restoration as quick as possible.
• The Migration Wizard aims to help users restoring to a new Windows operating system (OS). For example, after purchasing a new PC, the Migration Wizard will ensure all restored data is organised in the proper file structure for the target OS.
• Versioning enables users to restore previous versions of any backed up file if they accidently save over or delete older versions. Carbonite keeps older versions of files for up to three months.
• Once a restore is complete, the detailed Restore Summary Report identifies exactly how many files were restored and specifies the location of any relocated files.

• A Redesigned InfoCenter clearly displays backup and restore status, scheduling options and customer service information.
• A new Set Up Configuration completely automates standard setup while retaining customisation options for advanced users.
• Additional integration with Remote File Access from any computer or via mobile applications for iPhone®, iPod Touch® and BlackBerry® smartphones.
A year subscription to Carbonite’s unlimited Online Backup service costs £41.95 a year, with two year and three year subscriptions priced at £75.95 and £101.95 respectively.
The new Carbonite UK website offers local content and supports GBP currency. In addition, the site supports local UK payment methods including Maestro and credit card payments.
