Restore

Restoring your files is the most important element of any back up service. After all, it is the reason you backed up to begin with. Carbonite makes the restore process simple.

Restoring your files could not be made any easier. Carbonite software comes with a wizard that guides you through the entire restore process. The wizard offers two options, to restore your files now or to restore them later. Choosing to restore them now will present you with an additional choice of options, either to restore all your files to their original location or to restoring files by user profiles.

Carbonite also gives the option of restoring individual files and folders. Your folders are displayed as a virtual drive on your computer, just open the drive and navigate to the file you wish to restore. Once you find it, right click on it to bring the file back to its original location. If you wish to put it somewhere else, you simply click “restore to” and you will be given your choice of where to put the file.

Carbonite maintains a version of a file each day it is backed up. You have the ability to view up to 12 versions of a file to restore (depending on how many times the file was backed up and how long ago it was backed up). You can even restore a file that you have deleted (as long as the file was deleted within the last 30 days).
